What Dreams Are Made of: Abbey's Own Life-size Doll House
Abbey's bedroom is truly the stuff that my childhood dreams are made of! Probably why I love her room so much! When we shared about updating our playroom with work desks and a play kitchen space a few weeks ago, the play house had to go to make room for their desks. Lucky for Abbey, I knew just what to do with it - what girl wouldn't love having a life-size dollhouse in her bedroom?
Let's recap where we've been with Abbey's girly pink bedroom...
First Look at our Pretty Pink Girls Room:
It was a teal blue when we bought it, so our first move was painting this room pink, swapping out the multi-color fan blades and finding a home for a bunch of new girly decor. We surprised Abbey when we moved in with the pretty gold heart decal wall too. Check out this blog post for all the details.

New Rug and Window Treatments:
In the early days of my quest to replace every dingy honeycomb blind in the house, I updated Abbey's window to the sweetest pink stipe Roman shade. To really turn up the attitude I also got her a fuzzy leopard rug to help anchor the room. The shade was one of my toughest installs so far, but totally worth all the sweat and ... choice words. Check out this blog for details on the window and rug.
Now for some MAJOR fun - a Life-size Doll House:
Ok, she already had the cutest dollhouse ever for her wooden dolls, but when I took the tent out of the playroom, I knew I could give it a little more life and purpose. Part of the reason for my playroom and toy storage update was wanting to create more intentional zones for different types of play - so I moved most all of the babies and baby stuff up to her room. I contemplated a few different arrangements but loved how it perfectly tucked right into the space at the foot of the bed.
Her basket of dolls, bunkbed and crib all tuck right into here and out of sight with plenty of room to play.
Opposite the tent on her short wall is where her storage shelf landed for doll accessories and miscellaneous toys. We moved books out of here and into her closet to give those their own space too.
I'm glad to not totally ditch this tent already - it's so stinking cute and Abbey loves to place house with her dolls.
Don't worry, the little dollhouse still remains! This is one I'm never letting go of!
